BAG MAROSKAN
The idea of Maroskan and the idea of expressing the Moroccan-Scandinavian through materials, shapes and colors has been a long time coming.
As a Dane, I have a natural relationship with Scandinavian culture, but also Moroccan culture, as my husband and family come from there.
Since I met my Moroccan husband in Morocco almost 30 years ago, it has led to a sea of trips there, with a growing love for the people, the culture and the many "treasure chests" that the country hides. Not least nature, which is a great source of inspiration and which I endlessly love to highlight through images, Danish as well as Moroccan.
Morocco has been a big part of my life for a long time, as my family lives there. It therefore comes naturally to me to express and move through cultures that, despite great contrasts, also have so much in common.
"Based on Scandinavia's simple and bright interior design, but also the ever-growing interest in unique things, the idea arose to handpick specially selected interiors, inspired by MAROkkan / SKANdinavian style.
This was the start of MAROSKAN and since then I have gradually become more and more involved with Moroccan/Scandinavian interiors and decor.
The products are primarily made and selected from Morocco. They are chosen and adapted according to the shapes and colors I particularly like and reflect Moroccan Scandinavian style as a whole.
It is important that my products are Authentic,- that they are original and have a story behind them. In addition, that they are of good quality and sustainable, - that there is a good craftsmanship bag.
Of course, it's all created under orderly conditions.
That's why we work closely with all our partners in the country.
"We communicate in the language of the country and have a natural cultural understanding due to our own roots in the country. We find that this builds bridges and creates the best conditions for an honest and trusting collaboration."
When I'm in Morocco, talking to my dealers, locals or a passer-by, I experience an amazing openness and hospitality. This is generally in Morocco, but especially after I have "planted my roots" in the country through my husband, our three girls and other family. I personally experience a special connection and desire to help, to strengthen communities and similarities.
Therefore, in collaboration with my husband, I have initiated a project to support orphans and particularly vulnerable children in Morocco.
I hope you will read more about this via "Maroskan Foundation"and help make a huge difference.
Finally, I have to admit that in my family we are a big fan of the lion. A symbol of strength and a role model in its drive and endurance.
"But the strength is also the energy that arises when cultures merge, inspire and contribute to a greater whole. A personal experience over many years that I value and want to share.
My work with Maroskan therefore makes so much sense as I can both unite and express the life I have and the values I cherish.
I hope Maroskan will inspire you for your own (life) style.
From the heart
TAK
Line, Maroskan
